The Richmond?& Twickenham Times takes a look back at the sports stories that mattered to the borough in 2012.

August: Teddington?s Mo Farah won 10,000m and 5,000m gold at the London Olympics and Twickenham?s Stuart Hayes helped the Brownlee brothers win triathlon gold and bronze. Hampton?s James Foad and former Hampton School student Greg Searle won rowing bronze in the men?s eight.

September: Twickenham and Richmond won promotion to the Middlesex County Premier League, while Richmond Park regular David Weir claimed four Paralympic golds.

October: Harlequins beat Biarritz in the Heineken Cup and Hampton & Richmond Borough opened up a three point gap at the top of the Ryman Premier League with a 1-0 win over Whitehawk.

November: Twickenham thrashed Harringey Rhinos 123-0 and fly half Dom Brown set a new club record personal points tally of 48 in the process.

December: Brentford hit the League One top two and reach the third round of the FA Cup
