East Devon is an outstanding place which deserves an outstanding council. To achieve that we need the very best people.

East Devon District Council has ambitious plans for the future as it looks to serve the needs of the district and solve the problems of local people. Working across a large district which includes two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we provide top quality and highly valued essential services. We?re also planning for the future, working towards delivering sustainable jobs, homes and environmental protection to preserve what?s best about East Devon whilst embracing new opportunities.

?

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to take a lead in delivering educational activities and public events across East Devon District Council?s local nature reserves. This temporary post is for 6 months to cover maternity leave.

Working to a flexible time schedule, you will be taking the lead in a weekly after school Junior Ranger club based on the Axe Estuary Wetlands near Seaton, and delivering the John Muir Trust Award with family groups during the School summer holidays. You will also be working closely with other members of the Countryside team to engage with the local community through a busy schedule of public events throughout the summer.

?

You should have experience of educational work and public events, with a good level of wildlife based knowledge and have the interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to a wide audience with enthusiasm and passion. A full driving license is essential, and the role will involve weekend and evening working on a regular basis.
