Non-Profit Organization Helps Community Recycle After Local ...

ROSCOE (WIFR) -- Now that a local recycling plant is closed, a non-profit organization is trying to take in the company's former load at a new location.

Volunteers with Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful set up a makeshift recycling center outside the former Warner Electric building on McCurry Road in Roscoe this afternoon. The group originally planned on setting up shop at the Total Waste Plant also known as One Source Recycling n North Second Street, however, the business just filed for bankruptcy and is closed indefinitely. Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful serves 120 people nearly every weekend.

Tim Gabriel, Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful, says, "Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful is hoping to come to an agreement with a business where we can have a new location by the end of October and keeping the program going.?

The organization has set up the center every Saturday for more than 22 years.
