yup. that's my raisin. this dog is only a year and a half old, but she acts like she's 15. she sleeps most of the day in the sunniest part of the apartment she can find, and when she's awake she's usually burying her bones in my fabric stash or behind our pillows. i love this little one.?

the school year is back in full swing, and i'm finding that my stress level is considerably lower than in previous years. i hope i haven't jinxed myself by saying that, but i feel like i've got more time to spend with ted and friends and i feel good about this group of kids. i've got 2nd grade again this year, and while they are academically the lowest group i've had in years, the behavior is pretty great and they are really excited to learn. you really can't ask for more in a self-contained special education room in my opinion. my only worry is that there are new special education policies this year?that are difficult to implement without feeling like you're doing a disservice to the kids. i'm sure i'll be talking more about this as the school year goes on, but it is definitely an interesting time to be a teacher.?

but--it's saturday, so that means more coffee and blog reading and i just might finish that wiksten tank i started a month ago.?
